Scope and Benefits
LABC Registered Details enables all local authority building control surveyors to share technical details and to recognise the Building Control decisions made by others in the LABC network.
This means that once a ‘Registration’ has been awarded it will be recognised by all LABC surveyors in England and Wales. This ensures consistency of interpretation across the LABC network of over 3,000 surveyors operating from around 320 local authority offices.
The benefit for LABC’s customers is that the use of Registered Details streamlines Building Regulation applications and saves time and money. Our surveyors also benefit from the fact that technical research does not need to be repeated time after time by different local authorities.
System and solution manufacturers benefit from the national recognition afforded by the scheme and the use of the LABC logo*.
LABC is not a testing house and does not provide product certification – in fact, Registered Details submissions will be required to demonstrate technical performance and achievement of recognised standards by supplying test certificates and other proofs of performance prepared by recognised third parties.
Successful applicants will receive Registered Detail certification in respect of the company and individual system/solution or building type.
