|There are four types of Registered Details:
- Registered Housing Types – are a single design layout approval, typically from a housebuilder who will repeat this layout on a number of sites.
- Registered Commercial Types – are pre-approved single designs or layouts that can be replicated on a number of sites for warehousing and modular or portable construction in the commercial, industrial or retail sectors.
- Registered Systems – are elements of a building that are constructed or installed in practically the same way on any site or project (Registered Solutions vary according to site specific design requirements, LABC Registered Systems will have little variation).
- Registered Solutions – are solutions offered by manufacturers and installers to “typical” problems or requirements, usually arising from the Building Regulations. Whether simple or complicated, they are usually solved by an innovative manufactured solution. However, because building designs are often unique and affected by site specific factors, solutions cannot be applied universally. Therefore, LABC surveyors can download a full explanation of the “problem/solution,” obtain all the relevant supporting technical information (eg, lab test data, field test data, certification etc) and obtain a “checklist” of issues that need to be verified on each particular site or project. This checklist provides items that need to be established during the plan check and site visits and covers issues such as construction sequencing and typical workmanship issues.
