Demystifying the Consumer Code and the New Part L
The LABC Business Development Team, in association with LABC New Home Warranty, followied on from the success of the Social Housing Forums held in summer 2009 with a series of half-day forums aimed at house builders.
The Consumer Code applies to homebuyers who, on or after 1st April 2010, reserve to buy a new or newly converted home built by a home builder under the insurance protection of one of the supporting Home Warranty Bodies.
The key themes of the sessions were the new Part L and the Consumer Code for Home Builders, which came into force for all housing developers from the 1 April 2010.
