Ian Gough

Ian Gough MIFireE MBEng

 

Ian Gough joined the fire service as a fire-fighter in 1972 and served in the West Midlands, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Services.

 

Drawing on over 31 years of experience in fire operations, fire safety and fire investigation, Ian has represented the UK Chief and Assistant Chief Fire Officers Association (CACFOA) at a number of events, speaking on 'Fire-fighter's Perspective of Fires in Sandwich Panel Clad Buildings' and various related issues. Ian has also lectured at the Fire Service College, Moreton in Marsh and has written a number of articles pertaining to fire safety, especially fire sprinklers and large single-storey warehouses.

 

Retiring from the fire service in June 2004, he now continues to work as a fire safety consultant and is the Technical Advisor to the British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association, and a consultant to the Association of Building Engineers. Ian was a member of the working groups preparing guidance for properties in England and Wales covered by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and has been a member of the Loss Prevention Council (Fire & Security) Board.
